What we do

The daily activity of the clinic is in all spheres of dentistry and oral medicine, both autonomously for pathologies of the teeth and oral cavity, and in close collaboration with the other medical facilities of the hospital.

Our offer to patients can cover all needs deriving from pathologies of the teeth and mouth, both within the Regional Health Service, according to current regulations, and privately. By appointment only.

Some of the main specialized treatment we offer in the three main clinical areas of work into which the Department is divided is shown below:

  • Complex dental extractions (impacted and semi-impacted wisdom teeth, fractured roots)
  • Periodontal aesthetic surgery (covering gingival recessions, gingivoplasty, connective grafts)
  • Regenerative periodontal surgery (regenerative techniques including with the aid of membranes, biocompatible materials, biomimetic substances etc.)
  • Resective periodontal surgery (removal of anomalies and regularisation of the osseous alveolar crests)
  • Apicectomies, retrograde fillings, enucleation of maxillary cysts, biopsies, osseous surgery
  • Extrusion of impacted teeth
  • Implant surgery, including using PC-guided surgical methods
  • Positioning of Osseo-integrated implants with local anaesthesia, sedation or general anaesthesia
  • Volume increases in implant sites (maxillary sinus elevation, bone grafts, regenerative techniques and others)
  • Pre-prosthetic surgery (regularization of gingival profiles, normalization of the mucous and alveolar crests in the edentulous patient)
  • Day hospital oral surgery in the Department of Maxillo-facial Surgery, directed by Professor Aldo Bruno Giannì

Research and training

As a University teaching clinic, in close contact with other Milanese university clinics, we carry out major scientific research, teaching and continuous education in the Department.

We transfer the considerable wealth of knowledge matured in the Clinic to fellow dentists, prosthetists and dental hygienists with a constant work of scientific information, taking part in conferences and congresses, including internationally, publishing studies and clinical cases and organizing specialization and refresher courses.

The services of the Galeazzi - The Galeazzi Orthopaedic Institute offers all basic health care for a major district hospital. The focus and its historical specialization, however, emphasise the skeletal and locomotor systems, with all the necessary and additional specializations for the treatment of the pathologies that affect then, both degenerative and traumatic.
